Game of Thrones returns to Winterfell, prepares for filming in Spain

With Game of Thrones season 7 already under production and initial filming in Belfast, other significant filming locations are also coming into the news. Some interesting locations in Spain will be used for season 7 filming, and since the cast and crew are in Northern Ireland at the moment, we can assume that Spain will only see them in late November. However, as production is underway in Spain, some of the immediate proceedings have begun recently. Local crew for filming in Spain has been hired, with notices having been sent out in locations like Bermeo and Zumaia, and also in Trujillo andMalpartida, both found in Cáceres province, which are all confirmed locations of filming.

Spanish websiteHoyhas reported that nearly 500 crew members will be required only in Cáceres, where the local work will go on until December, so Spain will be made use of for quite a while in season 7. Locations like Bermeo will only be used for filming for two to three days since it only hosts one location, that of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe.

In other news, the Game of Thrones production crew in Northern Ireland has set up camp in Moneyglass now, the small village that is home to Winterfell, as reported by a fan on twitter.

Driving by Moneyglass and seeing Winterfell preparing to construct/maintain the set for S7 is a welcome breath of fresh air.
