Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau to star in Scripted Serial Killer Podcast 'Mask of Sanity'
Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is exploring the territory of murder mysteries with his upcoming project. The actor- famous for playing Jaime Lannister– will now play a reporter in the podcast ‘Mask of Sanity’.
Amazon’s Audible, Big Light Productions and Vespucci have teamed up to develop a slate of podcasts with a scripted series starring Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as one of its first projects.
Mask of Sanity is a serial killer story based on a true story from Bulgarian journalist, Dimiter Kenarov. Coster-Waldau will co-produce via his Ill Kippers Productions banner with producing partner and series writer Joe Derrick. It follows the story of a journalist reporting on a serial killer, but with a secret of his own. Ill Kippers’ Vice President Jeffrey Chassen will also serve as co-producer.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau said, “Mask of Sanity is a great example of the storytelling that Joe Derrick and myself want Ill Kippers to make. Entertaining, unexpected and thought-provoking, keeping the audience guessing right to the end. We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with the good people at Big Light Productions and Vespucci and can’t wait to share it with listeners everywhere through Audible.”
The series will start airing on Audible later in 2021. Another Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie will star in Sandman the audio series. Are you excited about the crime-thriller podcast? Talk to us in the comments below!
The superhero genre is slowly taking over the entertainment industry. Some of the most successful shows and movies today are from the two big comic book houses- the MCU and the DCEU. It is always a welcome surprise to watch our favourite stars in other franchises. Especially when they play an important role. Several Game of Thrones stars have featured in both DC and Marvel projects. Actor Sebastian Croft, who played a young Ned Stark on the show, is the latest star to join the fray.
Doom Patrol has added The Flash’s Micah Joe Parker and Game of Thrones’ Sebastian Croft to the cast ahead of season 3. Parker is set to play quiet and sensitive Malcolm. He is part of the Sisterhood of Dada and prefers to be invisible rather than face the harshness of the real world. Elsewhere, Croft will portray Charles Rowland, an “affable, charming” member of the Dead Boy Detective Agency. He remains haunted by his death from hypothermia back in 1989.
The show is based on the DC Comics’ team of the same name created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani. Doom Patrol centres on an ever-expanding roster of downtrodden super-powered beings. They have all been gifted their abilities through unique and tragic circumstances.

Game of Thrones ended nearly two years ago and fans miss the show dearly. Some of the actors of the show were so lovable among the general audience, they became a household name. However, we can always enjoy their amazing performances in their newer projects. Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen on the show, will be joining the ever-sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe. Clarke is in final negotiations to join Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion.
Variety reported on 20th April, Tuesday, that Game of Thrones’ Khaleesi will make her debut in the MCU in the upcoming Disney Plus Title. She joins previously-reported cast Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman. Her role is currently under wraps. Marvel Studios declined to comment on the matter. Reps for Clarke did not immediately comment on the news.
Secret Invasion was announced as a development property last year, one of Marvel’s many planned titles for Disney Plus. Jackson is reprising his MCU role of Nick Fury, while Mendelsohn will play the Skrull Talos as he did in the film Captain Marvel.
The series is said to follow a group of shape-shifting aliens who have been infiltrating Earth for years. Ben-Adir has been set as the main villain. Kyle Bradstreet is attached to write and executive produce. Kevin Feige’s unit is producing the series for Disney Plus.
Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington is also associated with a Marvel project. Are you excited about Marvel’s Secret Invasion series? Talk to us in the comments below!
Detective stories are one of the most popular genres of movies and literature that are full of thrill and suspense. The fun increases exponentially when the story is told by one of our favourite figures. Game of Thrones’ Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) will be playing the lead role in ITV’s ‘The Tower’ from ‘Homeland’ writer Patrick Harbinson. The three-part adaptation is based on Kate London’s Metropolitan Police novel Post Mortem.
Whelan will play Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins, who investigates after a veteran beat cop and teenage girl fall to their deaths from a tower block in southeast London. They leave a five-year-old boy and rookie police officer Lizzie Griffiths on the roof, only for them to go missing.
Collins works to find Lizzie before she comes to serious harm. But she also uncovers the truth behind the grisly tower block deaths. Collins and Griffiths later become the central characters in three books written by former Met officer London.
Filming of the series commences this month. The Tower is the product of Harbinson’s new production outfit Windhover Films and Mammoth Screen. The ITV Studios-owned producer was also behind the BBC/Netflix series The Serpent and Poldark. It is made in association with ITV Studios, which distributes internationally. ITV’s head of drama Polly Hill commissioned the series.
Gemma Whelan recently did a narrating of Sarah Pearse’s book The Sanatorium. Are you excited about the upcoming detective series? Talk to us in the comments below!
