Game of Thrones has always been a fan favourite and having one of the biggest fandoms in the world, a big presence at Comic Cons. The biggest of them all, San Diego Comic-Con, also stylised as SDCC, has seen Game of Thrones as a regular attendee, except for one year. Now, it looks like HBO will make up for the missing year by bringing it back, one last time, at SDCC 2019. Read on!

A few days ago, we had reported that there was a good chance that Game of Thrones will make an appearance at SDCC 2019. No official information had been revealed at the time, with no comments from HBO or SDCC officials. Now, however, HBO has gone and announced Game of Thrones’ big final return to SDCC. They posted a teaser through the official Twitter account of Game of Thrones:

HBO also revealed in a PR note that it will bring Westworld, and His Dark Materials to SDCC 2019, and that there will be a surprise for fans of the upcoming show, Watchmen. Furthermore, HBO also revealed details about the Game of Thrones panel. The panel will be in, of course, Hall H, on 19th July, at 5.30 p.m., with autograph signing kicking off at 3.30p.m. Here are the attendees:

“Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei of Naath), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont), Conleth Hill (Varys), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark). Other panelists include creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and director and executive producer Miguel Sapochnik.”

Looks like both Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) will not be attending. This is the first time the stars and showrunners will be facing the fans together after the end of the show. Showrunners David and Dan have faced a lot of heat from the fans for Season 8 writing, so we might see them having to answer a couple of tough questions at the Q&A session.

You will be able to follow the live coverage of the panel on the official Twitter handle @GameofThrones and use #GoTSDCC for the live tweet feed. Are you planning on attending SDCC 2019? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

hbo-announces-game-of-thrones-complete-series-shadow-box-set-3765557

HBO recently announced that Game of Thrones will be getting itself a complete series shadow box collection. All the eight seasons of the series will be available in a 33-disc set available in a wooden shadow box package illustrated by artist Robert Ball.

To be released on December 3rd under the name Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection, the shadow box set will include a never-seen reunion of the present and past cast of the show, hosted by Conan O’Brien. The same was recently teased by Game of Thrones on YouTube:

Game of Thrones: Reunion Special, a two-part reunion show in the limited-edition Blu-Ray will have cast members from the final season including Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner and more, as well as previous season fan-favourites like Sean Bean, Jason Momoa, Mark Addy and others.

Additional bonus content included in the collection will have deleted and extended scenes from various seasons, special featurette, behind-the-scenes footage, and animated histories and lore taking the story beyond the TV show into the epic fantasy fictional world of George R.R. Martin. Moreover, the collection will have bonus content like audio commentaries and a documentary named The Last Watch in a two-part DVD set.

The shadow box set – a fine work of Robert Ball – will have a beautiful multi-layered panel representing each season of the TV series in a different layer, showcasing characters and iconic moments all leading up to the Iron Throne. The set will also have a ‘Hand of the King’ pin clasp, holding all nine custom plated disc sleeves.
