Game of Thrones director has confirmed that Brienne Tormund romance is real

There are a lot of things that happened in Game of Thrones in this season. Missing characters came back, and a Stark reunion happened which is very rare on Game of Thrones. Sansa reached Castle Black with Brienne and Podrick and met Jon for the first time since.
Brienne also came to Castle Black for the first time and she found a male admirer. This admirer was not a brother of the night’s watch but the wildling Tormund. Although the thought emerged as a fan theory, director Dan Sackheim has recently confirmed this theory and said that, “I wasn’t even sure that when I delivered the episode it was really clear. It was like a fun little bit but I wasn’t sure it was really clear that he had these amorous feelings for Brienne. I’m always amazed what fans pick up.”
Now this statement makes it very clear and Tormund does have feelings for Brienne and we will see it with time, as to how this relationship blossoms there. For now, Brienne does not seem interested at all. This romantic allegiance, if happens, is going to be extremely useful for the show as well. Citizens of Westeros need to accept wildlings as a part of the human society. And Tormund’s feelings for Brienne can potentially be helpful in humanizing the free men. On the other hand, since Brienne has never been lucky with men (apart from Renly Baratheon respecting her but he wasn’t even interested in women) and this will help break down her walls.
Moreover, they will be amazing on the battlefield.
