Game of Thrones actor Daniel Portman says Lena Headey should be the next Bond and talks about Scottish independence

Game of Thrones is one of the most popular shows ever, and a big reason for its success is the fact that it has a big roster of characters played by actors which are all really talented. Now, one of the lesser discussed characters, is Podrick Payne, who has been a part of the show for every season since the second one.Daniel Portman, the actor who plays Podrick, is quite the talker on, discussing everything ranging from politics, to who he thinks should play the next Bond! Read on!

Talking to the reporters at the Empire magazine awards, Portman spoke about Scottish independence. He said :

“If I could run the British empire for a day I would give Scotland its independence. I am absolutely for it with the kind of mess we are in now.

I am very vocal about it. But everybody is entitled to their own opinion.”

The actor also tweets about the same.

Although Portman endorses Idris Elba as the next James Bond, saying it’s time we had a black Bond, he took to twitter to express his second choice for the role :

if it’s not Idris Elba I reckon you should do it!

The idea of Lena Headey playing James Bond isn’t foreign to us at all. Firstly, Lena is a brilliant actress. Secondly, she has played the strong, menacing characters before, (like Cersei, duh) which totally help us look at her like she could pull of Bond. Now that Daniel Portman has said it, we can’t picture Bond any other way. Imagine Lena kicking some ass, without having to use Wildfire, that too!

What do you think about Daniel Portman’s opinions? Are you for an independent Scotland? Would you like to see Lena Headey play James Bond? Or do you think any other Game of Thrones actor could make a better Bond? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
