Fan theory about Cersei Lannister's death talks about poetic justice
Game of Thrones Season 6 had ended looking not so good for Cersei. Even though she got the crown, she still had enemies on all sides, and they were coming for her, which is why it is a surprise that Season 7 showed her holding on and staying alive, and while being the queen. Now with Jaime having left her, she’s more vulnerable than ever, and there seems to doom circling over her head. A new fan theory now talks about how she could finally die, after all, and it’s quite the poetic justice. Read on!
Now to begin with, this theory builds up on the Valonqar theory. Maggy the Frog, told a young Cersei something that has been seen as a marker of her ultimate fate :
“Three [children] for you. Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.”
This has been partially fulfilled, with Cersei having had her three children die, and the next bit spells her doom. Maggy said that Cersei will be killed by the Valonqar, which means ‘little brother’ in High Valyrian. It has been said that this could be Tyrion, or even Jaime, but this theory says that it might be Cersei’s unborn child who would be the younger brother of her 3 children. Read it below :
“She’s definitely gonna die in childbirth right? The kid will be a male, thus fulfilling the “Little Brother” requirement and she’ll be dead, thus fulfilling the “only have 3 children” requirement. Couple that with her dying the way Tyrion was born and we’ve got us some wonderful poetic justice imo.”
This would be poetic justice, indeed. After all the hate she threw at Tyrion, if she dies in childbirth, giving birth to a dwarf, it would bring some justice to the life that Tyrion has had, and serve as an answer to the number of people that Cersei has killed.
What do you think? Could this come true? Could Cersei die of childbirth, just like her mother? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
