Fan finds DC Comics reference hidden in the book “A Clash of Kings”
Game of Thrones has a massive fanbase, and it’s no secret that we all are just a huge collective of geeks. The series comes from the universe George R. R. Martin established in his books, which are quite a read. While Game of Thrones has managed to be a fine adaptation, and but the fact still remains that to get a full idea of how the universe is, one has to read the books. Fans notice new things hidden in the texts of the books, every day, and the latest find is exciting for the geeks that we are. The Game of Thrones books have references to DC Comics. Read on!
The new information comes from a fan from Reddit, named thegeocash, who noticed the reference on page 555 ofA Clash of Kings, the second book. The story is following Arya Stark, who is on her way to the Night’s Watch, disguised as a boy, but is then caught and brought to Harrenhal. There, she notices a few house sigils, which include a red ox, a purple unicorn, a silver ferret, a blue beetle and a green arrow. Check the post, below :
It’s seems George RR Martin is a bit of a nerd – “clash of kings” page 555 from DCcomics
Now, as some of you might already know, Blue Beetle and Green Arrow, are very popular superheroes from the DC Comics universe, which is quite an Easter egg! Now, you might be wondering as to how we know that George was referring to what we think he was referring to when he wrote this. Well, we have previous proof to show that George himself was a huge comic book fan when growing up, like we had reported before. He wrote a letter to Marvel Comics as a teen, and considering that, and just the overall knowledge of Geroge R. R. Martin’s interests, we can be assured that this is indeed a DC Comics reference.
