The Winterfell set is undergoing reconstruction for Game of Thrones season 8!
Game of Thrones Season 7 might have finished not so long ago, but HBO is already on to the task of preparing for the next one. As you might know, Season 8 of Game of Thrones begins filming in October, and the production has already started the preparations for the same. A few days ago, we had reported about how Dothraki huts had been spotted outside Titanic Studios in Belfast, Northen Ireland, and now we have yet another update from not so far away. The Winterfell set in Moneyglass, Northern Ireland, has been revamped for Season 8. Read on!
A report by Game of Thrones fan site, Winter is Coming, says that there has been some activity at the Winterfell set at Moneyglass for a while. A month ago, a fan had noted that the front wall had been removed, but now a picture from Game of Thrones fan @alinaastark shows that the wall has gone back up. In case you didn’t know, this location is used to film the exterior scenes from Winterfell, while the interiors are filmed at Titanic Studios, Belfast. Check out the pictures, below :

If you look closely, you can see some of the bare wood, but it should be layered with stonework as work on the set winds up. The work could be routine preparations, or reinforcements to portray the same being done in the show, since the Army of the Dead has now crossed the wall. There’s a high possibility that the army of the dead will attack Winterfell in season 8 and Jon Snow must be making sure that the defences are upgraded before the Night King attacks Winterfell.
We will keep you updated on the preparations as we hear about them. What do you think will happen in the Season 8 premiere? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
