Exclusive: Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson talks about Game of Thrones and says he would eat a Dragon if he had one!

Game of Thrones Season 7 is almost here and we will finally come to know what happens when Daenerys lands in Westeros, how Cersei reacts to that, if the Hound comes back to King’s Landing and if he does, will the Mountain fight against him and many more things. In an exclusive interview with Wiki of Thrones, the Icelandic strongman talked about playing the role of Ser Gregor Clegane. We also tried to see if Hafþór Björnsson revealed some important information from the upcoming season.

Before we move ahead with the interview, take a look at Hafþór’s gym in Iceland. Wiki of Thrones was given the permission to visit his private gym in Iceland and I even tried training like him but failed miserably. It would’ve been wonderful to train with the Mountain himself, but he sadly couldn’t be present while I visited his gym. However, his father welcomed me to the gym and he too is a giant and you will realize that while watching the video.

Moving back to the interview, Hafþór spoke about the efforts that are taken while creating the look for his character, now that he’s more of a zombie with a scary face hidden behind the helmet. “Most people think it’s an easy job, being an actor. The reality is that you often have to start preparing at 4am, that is in the middle of the night for the majority of people.”

He further added, “It takes several hours just to put on the makeup and then there’s a whole day of shooting left.”

We then tried to see if he revealed any information about one of the most hyped events in Game of Thrones. You guessed it correctly, we are talking about the Cleganebowl. Sadly, things didn’t go as nicely as expected and Hafþór responded by saying, “I could tell you but then I’d have to crush your skull in, like that!!”

He then had an interesting answer when we asked him about Dragons and what would he do, if he managed to get a Dragon of his own. “I would grill it and eat it, just to make sure I have done everything I can to win the World’s Strongest Man competition,” is how he replied and we don’t know who’s more scarier, the fire-breathing Dragons or the Dragon-eating Mountain!

As I got a chance to ask only a few questions, I thought it would be better to have a sort of rapid fire round. Here’s how it went:

WoT: Which is your favorite Game of Thrones character?

HJB: Queen Cersei

WoT: If you had the chance to play another character in the show, which one would it be?

HJB: I have no idea.

WoT: Some characters you think will die in season 7

HJB: You will just have to watch it ?

WoT: If you had a chance to kill one character, which one would you kill?

HJB: I think all the characters I have not liked have been killed already!

WoT: What did the Mountain do with Septa Unella?

HJB: A gentleman never tells…

WoT: How do the show fans react when they meet you?

HJB: They normally look up.

WoT: What was your first reaction when you were offered the role?

HJB: I thought it was a prank.
