Eddie Munson gets his own prequel story in a new Stranger Things novel
We have all heard those rags to riches stories before – how a struggling actor becomes a breakout star after that one single role that truly shows what they are capable of. Actor Joseph Quinn featured as an extra on HBO’s hit Game of Thrones. Barely anyone noticed him there, but once he got the role he was born for, Stranger Thing’s Eddie Munson, he became a fan-favorite and a household name. Eddie will soon get his own novel series, a prequel exploring his origins.
What is the name of Eddie Munson’s prequel story?
As per Entertainment Weekly, the new book is called Stranger Things: Flight of Icarus. It is written by Caitlin Schneiderhan and will follow Eddie Munson’s journey in 1984, two years before the incidents in Stranger Things Season 4. The book is being published by Penguin Random House and will launch on October 31, 2023.
What is the plot of Stranger Things: Flight of Icarus?
According to the book’s synopsis, Eddie will get the opportunity to pursue a musical career with his band Corroded Coffin, however it will come at a huge cost. To pay for his dream, Eddie will be forced to join his father’s dubious schemes.

Fans love Eddie, and a lot of them were wishing really hard that he would return in the final season. However, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy denied the rumors, saying, “Highly unlikely. Highly unlikely. But, we hear you, world. We know. You’re obsessed with Eddie. So were we.”
