Emma D’Arcy has been a hit with fans, critics, and the awards circuit since her debut as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon. The actor joined the show mid-season under much pressure to play Rhaenyra, the heir to the Iron Throne, previously played by young actress Millie Alcock. The Independent news site releases a list of the biggest change-makers from the LGBT+ community every year, and this time House of The Dragon’s Emma D’Arcy made it to the list, securing the 11th spot.

The Independent recognized D’Arcy for their incredible performance in the Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon which gathered widespread acclaim. The non-binary actor was nominated for the “Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama”. Apart from that, they ranked as the “number one breakout star of the year on IMDB’s list of top breakout stars“, and were listed “fifth on the RadioTimes list of the top 100 most influential people in TV “in April.
