Charles Dance kidnaps Dream in Netflix’s Sandman Teaser Trailer

There were several memorable villainous characters in Game of Thrones, but few were as influential and admirable as Charles Dance’s Tywin Lannister. His mere presence on the screen dictated seriousness, and the audience knew he meant business. Dance will be once again seen in a villainous role, in Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s DC comic Sandman. And he looks quite menacing in the trailer itself, have a look:
In the teaser trailer released recently by Netflix, Dance cunningly lures and kidnaps Morpheus, the cosmic being who is an embodiment of all the dreams in the universe. Dance plays Roderick Burgess who is a charlatan, blackmailer and magician, and the show’s protagonist Dream is portrayed by Tom Sturridge.
Dance’s Game of Thrones co-star is also playing an important role in the series. Gwendoline Christie will play a female version of Lucifer, Queen of Hell.
Netflix’s official synopsis for The Sandman reads: “A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama, and legend are seamlessly interwoven, ‘The Sandman’ follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.”
