Bella Ramsey will continue playing Ellie in The Last of Us Season 2

Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey won millions of hearts playing the young and brave Lyanna Mormont on the HBO fantasy epic, even though her role was short-lived. She accurately portrayed the proud and quirky young warrior as she stabbed a giant wight during her last battle at Winterfell. It seems her days of adventure are not over yet, she has landed yet another action-filled role in HBO’s upcoming video game adaptation The Last of Us, and she’s grateful for it.

Will Bella Ramsey return as Ellie in The Last of Us Season 2?

Yes, she definitely will. In a recent press conference, the game’s creator and co-showrunner Neil Druckmann assured the fans that Bella Ramsey will continue playing Ellie in The Last of Us season 2. He said, “We are extremely lucky to have Bella…and the only way we would ever consider recasting Bella is if she said, ‘I don’t want to work with you guys anymore,’ And even then we’re not sure we would grant her that. We might force her to come back this season.”

What can we expect from The Last of Us Season 2?

Showrunner Craig Mazin teased the reporters about what’s to come in Season 2, “Sometimes it will be different radically and sometimes it will be barely different at all, but it’s going to be different and it will be its own thing. It won’t be exactly like the game. It will be the show that Neil and I want to make. We are making it with Bella.”

When does The Last of Us Season 2 begin filming?

In a recent interview with Collider, Pascal said, “In the year 2023? Oh, what season are we in now? We’re getting into spring? Yes, there is a chance. Yes.” The first season of The Last of Us took around 18 months to film. So, looking at the time gap, there’s a high probability that the second season won’t be here until 2025.
