An unexpected character spotted on set and another filming location in Spain is confirmed
Game of Thrones season 7 is so much in the news this week that it is impossible to miss the spoilers circulating around the internet as the filming in Spain is captured through photos and videos. After the phenomenal news of Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen’s meeting, there is more interesting news. It seems that multiple locations in Spain are being used as Dragonstone, and there is a new location added for filming. The Almodóvar del Río Castle as per whatLos Siete Reinossays is most definitely one of the parts of Dragonstone, though based on the pictures, it appears more like a location in King’s Landing. It will be a recurring location in season 7, so make of that what you will.
Many of the directors of season 7 and the show runners David Benioff and D.B Weiss have already visited the castle to prepare for filming. The directors include Jeremy Podeswa, Mark Mylod and Matt Shakman.Almodóvar will be closed from November 4th to the 16th, though filming will only take place for a week, but the speculation of it being Dragonstone is based on the fact that the extras required at the location are possibly the Unsullied and Dothrakis. Since Daenerys is already at Dragonstone, it does make sense though we don’t have enough confirmation. As filming continues, we’ll hopefully get some more information.
Now let’s head over to some interesting spoilers for season 7. We saw Gendry with Tyrion and Davos recently filming what looked like a pretty interesting scene, and further pictures now reveal some seriously cool developments. Now that we know that Dany and Jon have met, it is only a matter of time until Jon is enamoured by the glorious miracle that are Dany’s dragons. Spanish website Deiashared pictures where it is clear that Jon and Davos have seen a dragon, with Tyrion, who obviously isn’t as fazed as the newcomers. Check out the picture below:
Another new development is that a surprising character was spotted on set. Although the photos aren’t clear, speculation suggests that its a woman in a red costume. Since not many people on Game of Thrones are prominent in a red dress apart from a Red Priestess, we can assume it’s one of the two worshipers of the Lord of Light that we saw in the previous seasons. Though until season 6 revealed Kinvara, the Red Priestess in the east, we only had Melisandre, this is a rather interesting scenario. The last time we saw Melisandre was when Jon banished her from Winterfell. We don’t know where she went, but for her to have reunited with Jon and Davos in Dragonstone does seem a bit too intriguing.
Here are some of the pictures that were taken on set, which include a few closer shots at the woman in red, and Jon and Tyrion ascending up stairs:
Last but not the least, after we’ve seen the awesomeness that is Jon and Dany’s first ever meeting in blurry pictures, here’s a video to make your nerves go crazier:
