According to this Game of Thrones fan theory, we might see a new alliance in season 8
For once a post isn’t talking about the most eventful thing in Westeros: boatsex. What we are talking about, however, is a new bromance on Game of Thrones. Season 7 has been fan theory galore and they’re really not looking at stop signs at any point. Another fan theory suggests that a really cool friendship might be blooming between two unlikely characters: Bran Stark and Samwell Tarly. Let’s face it, they’re both literally know-it-alls, especially Bran.
Since their very short but very significant scene in the finale episode where it was officially confirmed that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark were in love and married, making their son Jon(Aegon) the true and rightful heir to the Iron Throne, Bran and Sam could well be sitting together solving all the mysteries on the show. As this Redditor points out, we’re probably looking at the dreamteam on Game of Thrones. Check out this thread:
Samwell’s master codex. He is Encyclopedia BritBrannica. To have the most curious character meet and partner with the most omniscient character is to create the Internet in Westeros. Sam won’t have to dig through books and tomes anymore. He can simply BRoogle the answer and away we go.
They are instantly the most powerful people in Westeros.
This theory could be true since even though Bran practically knows everything, he sometimes needs a nudge in the right direction, which he got from Sam. Had Sam not blatantly taken credit for Gilly’s discovery in the maester’s diary about the annulment of Rhaegar’s marriage to Elia Martell, Bran would have believed that Jon was still a bastard but not a northern one. Perhaps we see Bran and Sam together come up with a fool proof plan to defeat the White Walker army that has just marched beyond the Wall.
