Medgar Tully is not a major character in the original novels, but his inclusion in the show signals his role may be more significant. Lord Medgar participated in the joust at Ashford Meadow and faced Ser Humfrey Hardyng, but was knocked off his horse in the second tilt. Fans can expect his storyline to be fleshed out in this adaptation.
In the novella The Hedge Knight, Medgar’s role was minimal, and his name was not even mentioned. The character is only referred to as “Lord Tully” in that context. The graphic novel adaptation later provided the name “Medgar,” making his full identity clearer for fans and expanding his presence in the lore.
