Game of Thrones memorabilia sell for a total of $21,115,718 at Heritage Auctions
Even Game of Thrones props set a record!
Finding Game of Thrones merchandise can be a daunting task, and obtaining props from the television series is an even greater challenge. Frequently, the memorable set pieces that were meaningful to the cast members were not theirs to take home. However, after a five-year wait, Heritage Auctions recently teamed up with HBO to sell more than 2000 pieces of memorabilia.
Game of Thrones memorabilia sold at the second-highest-grossing entertainment auction
From October 10-12, Heritage Auctions and HBO presented Game of Thrones: The Auction, a significant event in the realm of entertainment memorabilia. The auction was a complete sell-out, garnering $21,115,718 from over 4,500 bidders globally — many of whom were bidding at Heritage for the first time. Their participation made this the most successful auction of costumes, props, and more from any single film or TV show. Game of Thrones: The Auction ranks second in the history of entertainment auctions, surpassed only by the $22.8 million Debbie Reynolds event in 2011, orchestrated by Heritage Auctions’ Executive Vice President Joe Maddalena.
