Cáceres, a city with just under 100,000 residents, is a treasure trove of history and architectural marvels. Its Gothic, Renaissance, and ancient Roman structures, combined with the authentic medieval setting of the old town, make it a perfect match for the world of Westeros. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Plaza de Santa Maria, with its 15th-century Gothic cathedral, has previously been used for filming. As House of the Dragon returns to Cáceres for its third season, the city’s unique features will again be showcased to a global audience. Cáceres was also a significant location for the sixth season of Game of Thrones.
