Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) shines as a villain in the trailer of Wonder Woman 1984
We’re slowly moving into a phase of COVID-adjusted world where we need to move ahead with our work despite the threat and concern of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the news of the first registered vaccine (Sputnik V) from Russia has further given people hope of a ‘normal’ world. Anyway, things are going forward and the entertainment business is looking to return to the physical scene, alongside the virtual. The ninth film in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe) and the much-awaited sequel of Wonder Woman (2017), WW84: Wonder Woman 1984 is set to open in theaters on October 2, 2020. Its trailer has just arrived, and it’s spectacular. Plus, if you happen to be a Game of Thrones fan, there’s a very familiar face in there; Pedro Pascal, who played the tragically brave Oberyn Martell/the Red Viper in GoT. Read on to find out more.
WW84 follows the events of the first film, Wonder Woman, which was based during World War I. There, the immortal Amazon warrior princess Diana found her footing in a man’s world and came of age with her abilities. Now, the sequel leaps forth in time and the story is set during the Cold War in 1984; where Diana Prince a.k.a Wonder Woman faces a fresh pair of enemies. Gal Gadot reprises her role as the fiercely lovely Diana/Wonder Woman, and Chris Pine comes back as Steve Trevor, Diana’s love interest. The villainy seems to be taken care of by the characters of Maxwell Lord and Barbara Minerva/Cheetah. Pedro Pascal plays Maxwell Lord, who’s a media businessman famous for TV infomercials; while Kristen Wiig portrays Barbara/Cheetah, who had once been a friend of Diana’s.
The Warner Bros. film returns with its original director, Patty Jenkins; who gave the highest-grossing film ($821m) as a solo female director for the 2017 film, Wonder Woman. The story of Wonder Woman 1984 has been written by Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns; whereas the screenplay is by Jenkins, Johns, and David Callaham. The music is by Hans Zimmer, the Oscar-winning composer of films like The Dark Knight, and The Lion King. The film also stars Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen in supporting roles.
Pedro Pascal’s performance of the antagonist Max Lord was said to be based on Donald Trump. But the director, Patty Jenkins has denied such claims. She asserts that Pascal as Max Lord is inspired by Gordon Gekko from Oliver Stone’s film, Wall Street, and also by Gene Hackman’s role of Lex Luthor in the 1978 film, Superman. She describes Gekko as “a villain with potential to be dangerous and scary”. Pascal talked to Entertainment Weekly about his character in February. “Max is a dream seller,” he had said. “It’s this character who encompasses a component of the era which is, you know, ‘Get whatever you want, however you can. You’re entitled to it!’ And at any cost, ultimately, which represents a huge part of our culture and this kind of unabashed – it’s greed.”
Pedro, a Chilean-American actor, also starred in the Netflix crime series, Narcos. He currently plays Din Djarin/The Mandalorian as the title character in the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian; whose first season released on Disney+ in November 2019. And the second season is set to premiere in October 2020.
So, coming back to Wonder Woman, WW84 was originally set for a June 2020 release but the date kept getting pushed due to coronavirus. Finally, Wonder Woman 1984 is going to release in 2D and 3D in select cinemas and IMAX in the United States on October 2, 2020.

Watching our favorite stars play out a radically different character has always been a matter of interest. One of the most likable characters on our favorite show Game of Thrones was Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington. Unlike Jon, Kit seems to know something in Criminals season 2 trailer.
Kit plays the role of a smug estate agent, who is accused of rape. He gets frustrated about being questioned about the same in the trailer. The show’s setting gives you chills as he establishes himself as a self-entitled rich guy who gets what he wants. His angry outbursts only make it worse for him. But is he guilty?
Harington’s new character is a far cry from his bumbling, humble, and heroic character of Jon Snow. Jon Snow was a life-changing role for Kit (Check out his farewell speech for Game of Thrones), but the new edgy role will solidify his versatility. Not to mention his new haircut for the show, sure to gather some attention.
The Netflix series turned in heads after the introduction of its cast for season two. Other than Game of Thrones star Kit Harington, the show has cast 3 more extremely talented artists. Kunal Nayyar from The Big Bang Theory, Sophie Okonedo, an Oscar nominee, and Sharon Horgan from the comedy Catastrophe will also be seen in the series.
From not knowing anything as Jon Snow, to a cunning, perverted estate agent, Kit Harington has come a long way. Being a fan favorite on one of the biggest TV shows ever made, his job will not be easy as a different character. We can be sure he can pull it off with his amazing acting skills.

Some actors in Hollywood are famous for their macho style. Jason Momoa has made a name for himself in that category, in each of his roles. Be it Khal Drogo of Game of Thrones, or Arthur Curry of Aquaman, the actor reeks of badassery. He has done it yet again as Duncan Idaho in the latest movie adaptation of the sci-fi novel Dune.
Jason Momoa sports an unbearded look as Duncan Idaho in the Dune movie trailer. He looks menacing even without his beard. His character, Duncan, is a total badass in House Atreides. Jason compared his character to Han Solo of Star Wars in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.
Momoa received widespread praise for his work as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. His character as a powerful warlord, who was the leader of a huge Dothraki army created an impactful image in the audience’s mind. It was so impressive people used to get confused if he knew English at all! Jason played the role for 10 episodes in season 1.
Dune is an award-winning novel written by author Frank Herbert in 1965. Dune was first adapted for the big screen by David Lynch in 1984. It was a success on the box-office and the film is still revered by its fans. The new adaptation of the movie holds great promise and the fans are expecting it to be much better than the previous version.
The director of the new Dune movie is Denis Villeneuve. The movie is set to release on 18th December 2020. It is predicted to be one of the major films of this year. The presence of Jason Momoa makes it all the more exciting to watch.

Game of Thrones will always have a special place in all our hearts. It is a revered TV series for both fans and the crew alike. There has been a tradition in film industry to provide Easter eggs related to a franchise that has made an impact on pop culture. One such Easter egg was spotted in Maisie Williams’ new action-comedy Two Weeks To Live.
A recent clip of one of the episodes revealed a welcome surprise for the fans of Game of Thrones. In that scene, Maisie Williams, who plays the role of Kim is being attacked by an unknown individual. Maisie retaliates in a way that was reminiscent of her role Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

Maisie’s character, Kim, attacks back the same way Arya Stark did against the Night King. In Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3, Arya appeared out of nowhere to attack the Night King, played by Vladimir Furdik. The Night King grabs her by the throat, and all hope seems lost. Arya pulls off a surprise move by slipping her dagger to her other hand and stabbing the night king, killing him.
In the TV series Two Weeks To Live, Maisie pulls off a similar stunt. It was a subtle nod to a tribute to her former role. As Kim, she stands back to her attacker by slipping a glass bottle to her other hand, and smashing it on his head.
The scene was definitely a wow moment for her fans. It was also a chance for the actress to relive her time as Arya. What do you think about the show? Tell us in the comments below.
