Maisie Williams is still the “closest with” Sophie Turner among Game of Thrones co-stars
At its height, Game of Thrones was undoubtedly one of the best television shows of the century. For many, it was both a large family and a way of life. The cast of the show is still in contact with one another. As young actors, Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) played on-screen sisters on Game of Thrones. However, they also grew close like one in real life as well.
Maisie Williams is still in touch with Sophie Turner
Williams has grown to become an accomplished artist herself. However, she still remains tied to her roots. In a recent interview with People, she said, “We’re good! I’m going to see her soon [for her birthday on Feb. 21] so we’re going to do something fun,” she says. “I can’t keep in touch with everyone [from the show], but she’s the one that I’m closest with.”
Maisie Williams talks about dealing with the “dark” theme of The New Look
Williams’ recent venture has taken her to the period of World War II in the drama The New Look. And those were depressing times, which her character has to go through as well. She recalled, “It’s ultimately a show about creation and survival. What we see is these people making something beautiful from the darkest times in their lives.”
She also talked about how she dealt with the darkness that came with it, “That consisted of a lot of yoga, meditation and even isolation,” she says. “I was confronted with the reality that these things actually happen to a lot of people. I had to acknowledge the darker parts of humanity and history.”
