John Bradley opens up about the excessive nudity and sex scenes on Game of Thrones
Perhaps the world’s most watched and most controversial television program of this century has been Game of Thrones. In addition to its amazing CGI and gripping story, the fantasy epic was well-known for its blatant nudity.
Many fans were outraged by the sex scenes in the program and questioned how sex was handled in it. The show’s star John Bradley, who played Samwell Tarly, recently mulled over the show’s excessive sex content.

Though Bradley himself wasn’t really involved in sexual stuff on Game of Thrones, however, he did observe it on the sets. On being asked about his experience in an interview with Cherwell, he said,
“I think everybody’s on this journey of enlightenment and education all the time. And they all seem to happen way too late. These moments, whether it be Black Lives Matter, or whether it be Me Too, and that kind of thing. They all happen way too late in history. But it’s just all about how we learn from them and how we make amends. Before those movements, you wouldn’t even have thought about how they can be seen with a different light shined on them.”
John Bradley discusses whether Game of Thrones actors had a problem with nudity
Bradley likes to believe despite the blatant display of sex and nudity, all the actors eventually made peace with it. He continued,
“And I’d like to think that everybody on our show felt safe and looked after. I’d never really heard of any otherwise. Everybody involved in it are still friends, it doesn’t feel like there’s any bad blood but you know, if there was then nobody should have any compunction about speaking out about it.”
