Princess Zelda’s voice actress says she drew inspiration from Game of Thrones
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an action-adventure game released for the Nintendo Switch and the game has been gaining a lot of popularity since its release a few weeks back! Recently, the voice of Princess Zelda, actress Patricia Summersett revealed that she drew inspiration from Game of Thrones for her role in the game! Let’s take a detailed look at what she had to say!
Princess Zelda’s voice actress took inspiration from Game of Thrones
In a recent interview with Axios, the voice actress told that she tried out an RP British accent for this role. She also said that she drew inspiration from admirable female roles, “women who are very strong, heady but also placed in a royal position,” and those who have “a zeal for education, that kind of sparky brain.”
According to her, there was some Daenerys Targaryen, as played by Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones, “A little bit” of Emma Watson from the Harry Potter movies, and also “A little bit” of Mia Farrow from “The Last Unicorn.” She explained it further by saying, “Just a little because I grew up with that and it’s always somewhere in my child brain.”
Patricia on working with Nintendo!
In case you haven’t played the video game series, this is not the first time Summersett is doing the voice for Princess Zelda, instead this is her third expedition as Princess Zelda. As she first did the role in the first game Breath of the Wild, then the spin-off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and now Tears of the Kingdom.
In the same interview, Summersett revealed that she has never actually met series producer Eiji Aonuma. She also revealed that she found out that there would be a Breath of the Wild sequel after Nintendo ran a teaser in public, in June 2019. According to her, that’s normal and she said, “They have to be ready for you. A certain amount of the game has to be created.”
