Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey to headline Netflix’s upcoming Western drama ‘The Abandons’
Game of Thrones star Lena Headey is an amazing performer. When she played Cersei Lannister on the show, her evil queen persona was so powerful, that some fans began to despise her in real life. Nonetheless, true fans know and love her for the same, for her phenomenal acting. Headey is making a return to the TV screen with Netflix’s upcoming drama The Abandons.
What is The Abandons about?
The Abandons is a Western drama created by Kurt Sutter for Netflix. The official synopsis of the series reads, “As a group of diverse, outlier families pursue their Manifest Destiny in 1850s Oregon, a corrupt force of wealth and power, coveting their land, tries to force them out. These abandoned souls, the kind of lost souls living on the fringe of society, unite their tribes to form a family and fight back. In this bloody process, ‘justice’ is stretched beyond the boundaries of the law.”
What role will Lena Headey play in The Abandons?
Headey will play a character known as Fiona. Fiona is “a strong, devout matriarch who, unable to have her own children, took in four orphans to create her own family. Driven by a higher purpose – and a strong-willed Irish temper – her faith and love for her family trump all.”
When will The Abandons released on Netflix?
So far, there has been no news about a release date, and Headey is the only cast member officially announced. The series was ordered at Netflix in October 2022 and more information will be posted as the production reaches its climax.
