Olivia Cooke talks about preparing for her role in House of The Dragon
Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon finished its first season last year, and it was a grand success. Not only did it smash viewership records and television ratings, but the show is also proving its mettle in the awards category as well. House of The Dragon has outperformed most of its competitors, winning The Golden Globe award for Best Drama series, and hopes are high with this year’s Emmy nominations. The overwhelming support for the prequel show is quite evident, and the cast is thankful for it.
House of The Dragon star Olivia Cooke, who plays the older version of Alicent Hightower in the series, talked to The Hollywood Reporter about how she prepared for the role:
“We both went on a bit of a deep dive into Game of Thrones — because neither of us had seen it before — and read the book, read the scripts, and chatted endlessly with [showrunners] Ryan [Condal] and Miguel [Sapochnik] and [writer and executive producer] Sara Hess. And that was it, really. I didn’t really do much soul-searching or anything like that.”
