HBO chief says more Game of Thrones spinoffs are on the way following House of The Dragon’s success
Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon recently finished its Season 1 quite successfully. According to HBO chief Casey Bloys so far it is the only Game of Thrones spinoff that has been greenlit officially. However, he didn’t deny the fact that there were other projects at work, stemming from the GOTverse or the Martinverse, whichever way you prefer to call it. And it seems like more Game of Thrones spinoffs are on the way after the confirmation of House of The Dragon’s second season, which is already in the works at HBO, according to a recent statement by Bloys.
Bloys told Vulture in a recent interview, “I think probably the next thing would be season two. I try not to comment too much [on] development, so there’s not a whole lot to say, other than when we find the story that George is happy with and we’re happy with, we’ll move forward.”
Bloys was also asked that in the case the studio greenlit another spinoff, would they have to add another chapter in the Game of Thrones saga each year, to which he replied, “Well, let’s see. That would be nice. That would be nice.”
