Emilia Clarke says coming to terms with Game of Thrones finale was challenging
The tale of the Game of Thrones season 8 controversy still lives in the minds of the die-hard fans. It has been three years since HBO’s money-making mint wrapped up filming, but people can’t stop talking about it. After all, the highly popular and record-breaking show divided its fandom with a controversial and a rather rushed-up final season. Not just the fans, but the cast of the series is split up upon the same issue. Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is one of the most recognizable actors from the show, and even her own opinions are divided on the issue.
Talking to The Guardian in a recent interview, Clarke reminisced how it was for her to come to terms with the controversial finale. She recalled, “It was definitely a challenge. I walked out my door, took my keys, forgot my phone and just kept walking.”

“I totally understand and respect why they did it. There’s a depressing reality of how it ended that actually feels based in truth, which no one wants for their favourite fantasy show. I’m not sure in what other direction she could have gone.” She now sees the extreme fan reaction as “the ultimate flattery – no matter what we did, we would have upset people because it was ending”.
