Interview
The Wheel of Time star Rosamund Pike explains how the show is different from Game of Thrones
The Wheel of Time is Amazon Prime’s newest fantasy epic, and it is being compared with HBO’s Game of Thrones for the right reasons. While several fans and critics are busy arguing on online forums whether it is the next Game of Thrones or not, the cast and the crew are trying to etch a different identity for the show. The Wheel of Time star Rosamund Pike is aware of the comparisons between the two fantasy epics, but she seems to be focused more on what makes her show different than Game of Thrones.
In a recent interview with She Knows, Pike answered several questions that were specifically directed towards comparisons with Game of Thrones. When asked what’s that one thing about The Wheel of Time that makes it better than Game of Thrones, she replied:

“I think we’re a huge admirer of Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones crossed over, broke through from the fantasy genre. Got the whole world talking about it. We do have a more exciting and dynamically cast series, I think. In terms of the diversity of our cast. People have been called from literally all over the world. Our casting director has searched the whole globe for these characters, and it shows on screen.”

Whatever Rosamund Pike thinks, I am here for it. She IS that show, the absolute, indispensable flagship of that show. Jawdropping.
