4 Reasons you need to go see the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience featuring Ramin Djawadi
As most fans know, the mastermind behind all of the music in the Game of Thrones series has begun touring North America last month, presenting his musical creations like never seen before. The soundtrack to this HBO phenomenon is a brilliant masterpiece collection that adds to the epic story told by George R.R. Martin, adapted to screen by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. I had the chance to go see this in person in Montreal, QC and a week later I am still mesmerized, thinking about this amazing performance. So I’ve put together a list of reasons why you need to go live this experience for yourself, and guarantee you will not be disappointed!
1. This tour is happening at the perfect time; while fans all around the world are eagerly awaiting the start of Game of Thrones season 7.
Game of Thrones season 7 will premiere in July and during the endless months of Westerosi withdrawal, instead of re-watching old episodes over and over again, indulge into this new production. Ramin Djawadi is making a recap of all our favorite series’ best moments. Seeing this concert will let you see all your beloved characters evolve again in a new light, and make the wait for the next season a bit more bearable. (Although let’s not kid ourselves, you probably keep re-watching old episodes after anyways.)
2. Ever wonder what it would be like if the Game of Thrones universe were real?
Well this concert lets you experience a glimpse of it, from a man at the center of it all! Ramin Djawadi has been working with the series’ creators since the very beginning of it all and has made the mind-blowing soundtrack behind all the show’s unforgettable moments. The tear-jerking violin, the goose bump-inducing vocals, the thrilling percussions. Mixed with the montage of the scenes on the big screens, the costumed musicians, the prominent stage, the light show, the special effects, the fire, the smoke, and the list keeps going. You walk into another world during this unique performance.
3. The fandom unites.
I have to admit I’ve sometimes wondered if it’s normal to be so invested in a fictional series. However, being in a stadium full of thousands of other fans made me feel quite relieved. People of all ages, backgrounds and regions made the trip to the Bell Centre in Montreal on March 3rd. Talking to others about the show’s events, characters, plot and which songs we were most excited to hear was great. It’s fun to see how many others are just as impressed with this show as you are, and just as excited to see the live performance as you. Everyone was connected through the series that night.
4. The musical talent put in the limelight.
Although the music in the Game of Thrones series is undeniably amazing, while watching the show we often get sidetracked by the plot and acting. However, isolating the musical aspect of it for one night lets you take it all in. It’s beautiful to see all the instruments that come together to create all these stunning sounds. They set the mood and make you feel the emotions the characters are going through in each scene.
