Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas donate meals to the health workers of a Los Angeles Hospital
The need of the hour is to come together while staying apart. Social distancing and self-isolation are key weapons in defeating COVID-19. But it’s equally important to realize that many members of our society are at high risk. Some are fighting the illness as healthcare workers; whereas others are hit badly by the economic aspect of the shutdowns. So, unless we come forward as a community to help them provide the basic needs of food and shelter, there’s no possibility of a victory here. Our favorite quarantine couple, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and her musician husband, Joe Jonas showed a nice gesture by donating hot meals to the East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital.
Fueling the Fearless, a non-profit group, runs this campaign. They’re feeding the hospital workers at the front lines of COVID-19 while helping locally-owned restaurants to stay open and running. Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas, Joe’s manager Phil McIntyre and his wife, Shonda joined hands with the non-profit group to donate 100 hot meals for the hospital staff. Fueling the Fearless shared a few photos on Instagram on Monday to thank the two couples.
The pictures showed the staff from one of the hospitals they delivered to, plates of food, and cartons loaded for delivery. “A BIG THANK YOU to @joejonas @sophiet @philymack @shondamcintyre for donating 100 meals to East LA Doctors Hospital. This hospital is in the heart of downtown LA and serves a vastly underprivileged community with limited resources and support”; the caption read. Aliki’s Greek Taverna, an eatery in Los Angeles, perhaps prepared the meals; as the post thanked them too. “Through these types of fully paid sponsorships @alikisgreektaverna and her donors bring a moment of relief to a most grateful staff. One hot meal lets them know we are all in this together”; it said.
That’s a wonderful thing that Sophie and Joe did, and we hope it inspires others too. Another GoT star Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) recently revealed his step-father’s company is providing PPE to health workers. While we are certain that a lot of people are chipping in with their help all around the world to protect their community and health workers; and not everybody needs to get social media attention for it. But this sometimes brings in other willing people to help in their own ways.
This helpful act is another good thing in the list of activities that the couple has engaged in lately. Whether it’s the message of social distancing or telling us their quarantine routine, Sophie and Joe have been right on top of this lockdown season. We also saw their TikTok video a few days ago where they answered adorable questions about their relationship. Well, it seems like we can’t get enough of these two lovely people.
