A joint concert of Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit is coming
Most of what we have watched and loved on-screen has been a result of striking visuals and enchanting music. Such is the power of sound that without it, the moving imagery might just lose its impact. It provides the much-needed fuel to the fodder of storytelling. While being engrossed in the story, we are mostly oblivious to the underlying background music, much like our own breathing in daily lives. But if it’s not present, there would be no life.
Game of Thrones is one of the loveliest things to have ever graced our TV screens. Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit have been similar phenomena for the big screen. And these were made what they became by able support of music. People have often compared the three as timeless classics, and even GRRM has admitted that he was inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s work. Hence, it’s fitting that the worlds of Westeros and Middle Earth are coming together in a celebration of music in a live concert with Symphony Orchestra and Choir in Scotland and Wales.
“They are the most beloved and recognizable big and small screen creations of all time – let alone just in the world of the fantasy genre – and now the music of Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit will be celebrated in a special orchestral concert at Edinburgh Usher Hall,” reads the organizers’ description for The Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Scotland. We couldn’t be more excited!
Ramin Djawadi’s creative scores have made the imagination of George R.R. Martin, and the vision of the creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, a spectacle. Similar to GoT, J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit came to life with Peter Jackson’s direction and beautiful pieces of music by Howard Shore.
“The show, presented by Senbla by arrangement with Silva Screen Live, will be a celebration of the music from the most memorable moments from across the worlds of Middle Earth and the Seven Kingdoms. The stunning musical accompaniments will be performed live by a huge orchestra, creating an immersive live concert experience that is every bit as thrilling as the twists and turns in these worlds’ respective histories,” are the described details.
The group will perform at three locations. First, at St. David’s Hall in Cardiff, Wales on April 18, 2020. Second, at The Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 11, 2020. And the third, at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow, Scotland on June 12, 2020. Thus, the experience will not be available for wide geography. But it will assure joy for those visiting these places.

The fiercest warriors leave a lasting presence to those who have witnessed them in a fight. Lots of fans look up to them as their idol, waiting for a chance to see them again. Mike Tyson has been one of the biggest names in the boxing world for decades now. Fans all over the world have a chance to see him again, fighting against the baddest man on Game of Thrones. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who played The Mountain on the show, co-stars with Tyson in the Desert Strike movie trailer.
The former professional boxer plays Rick, an ex-military man trying to do the right thing. The explosive clip sees him go up against Frank (Bjornsson) and his gang of ruthless mercenaries. It shows Rick leading a group of Egyptian refugees through the desert when several ominous helicopters fly overhead.
Tyson has made appearances in movies before but they have only ever been fleeting cameos. Bjornsson, meanwhile, has plenty of acting experience under his belt, playing the Mountain on Game of Thrones.
Boxing fans all around the world are excited about the highly anticipated bout of Bjornsson and Hall. Dubbed as the heaviest boxing match in history, the fight is scheduled for September 2021.

Movies and shows are not just a form of entertainment. They are a powerful method of describing real-life situations. The Long Night 2020 left a vast number of families devastated. With fewer job opportunities and rising prices, many of them had to flee to survive. Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau will be telling one such scintillating story in the documentary film Flee, directed by Jonas Poher Rasmussen.
Flee tells the story of Amin Nawabi (a pseudonym), a child refugee fleeing his home in Afghanistan to safety in Denmark. Recounted mostly through animation to Rasmussen, his close friend and high-school classmate. Amin tells for the first time the story of his extraordinary journey. Riz Ahmed will take on the role of Amin, while Coster-Waldau voices Rasmussen in the documentary.
“I was floored by the emotional impact of Flee.’ This is a unique project that pushes forward our ideas of what documentary, animation, and refugee-centred narratives can be. I’m proud to help bring this project to life for English-speaking audiences,” said Ahmed.
Coster-Waldau said, “When I watched ‘Flee’ I was blown away. The power of a story told in a simple way. ‘Flee’ is a story of extreme perseverance and hope where all hope seems lost. Director Rasmussen captures the intensity of one refugee’s unbelievable journey from the streets of Kabul to the Danish suburbia. Amin is able to tell his story hidden behind his animated avatar. It feels so much more revealing and honest than had it been a standard filmed interview.”
Another Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage is also going to lend his voice to an animated movie Hitpig. How do you feel about the movie’s plot? Tell us in the comments below!
The winter is taking a turn for the worse, dropping the temperatures all over the world. With most of Europe and North America under the snow, it really feels like a scene from the Long Night. We just got over the Red Wedding year 2020, but the problems don’t seem to go away. In times like these people need a beacon of hope to keep themselves going on. Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s new movie hopes to inspire people to keep fighting even in difficult times.
The upcoming Netflix film Against The Ice is based on the Danish novel of the same name. The film will feature Game of Thrones’ Jamie Lannister aka Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. He will be seen playing the lead of the film along with English actor Joe Cole. Joe Cole is popular worldwide as Peaky Blinders’ John Shelby. The movie will also feature another Game of Thrones actor Charles Dance who played Tywin Lannister.
Against The Ice is set in the year 1909 and revolves around Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. The character will lead a mission to disprove the US theory which says that Greenland is divided into two pieces of land. He will make sure that they end their claim on the North-Eastern side. Cole will be seen playing an inexperience crew member. The two will leave their ship and other members behind and slide across the ice to successfully complete the mission.
Coster-Waldau was last seen discussing climate change with Ursula von der Leyen. Are you excited about the historical thriller film? Tell us in the comments below!
