The Mountain – Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson gifts vodka and flowers to women on National Women’s Day in Iceland
Game of Thrones has a lot of characters, of which, some really stand out because of their strengths. Now, characters like Varys, and Littlefinger, might stand out because of their wits, but characters like The Mountain, stand out for having physical strength. The Mountain is shown to be a ruthless character in the series, but Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, the actor who plays him in the series, is quite the opposite in nature. Proof? Hafþór gifted vodka and flowers to women, recently. Read on!
On the eve of Iceland’s National Women’s Day, Hafþór went to the the Kringlan mall in Iceland, to distribute small bottles of his own brand,Icelandic Mountain Vodka, and flowers to women of all ages. The International Women’s Day is being celebrated today but it’s important to remember that Iceland celebrates National Women’s day as well and it’s on 19th Feb, as mentioned in the video. Check the video out, below :
It’s no surprise that the women Hafþór approached seemed to appreciate the gesture. He is obviously quite well known, and loved and fans did not only accept the gifts, but also stopped to hug him, and take pictures with him.
To meet the star of one of your favorite TV series, and have him offer you free booze and a flower sounds something like a dream come true. The vodka apparently isn’t too bad, either. In their report,Supercall said that they named Icelandic Mountain Vodka one of the best new vodkas of 2016, and apparently is it quite a tasty one.
The last we saw of The Mountain, he was brutally murdering Septa Unella on Cersei’s command. He later did an ad campaign with the actress who played her in the series. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson is all set to return as The Mountain in Season 7, when it returns in summer this year, most probably in July.
