Game of Thrones Season 8 is nearly done filming. We had the wrap party recently, and as the residual filming ends in the coming days, we should expect a lot of post filming interviews and cast member makeovers. These have already started dropping, and the hype train for Season 8 is just catching speed. In a new interview with Gold Derby, Sophie Turner, who plays the role of Sansa Stark on the show, teased the next season, and the destruction that it will bring. Read on!

Speaking of the theme of Season 8, Sophie said:
“Everyone is coming together to fight the impending doom. There’s a lot of tension between these little groups, battling for what they think is right. It’s Game of Thrones, so it’s going to be bloodier and more death and more emotionally torturous than all the years before.”
We have seen Sansa Stark as the whiny teen, and we have seen her grow through the show, but Season 7 showed the most definitive change in Sansa. Speaking of this, Sophie said:
“I always saw something of a warrior in Sansa that I don’t think other people really saw. I always had the feeling that she was learning and adapting and at some point or another it was going to manifest itself somehow, and she manifested it into being a warrior. It felt really satisfying when it happened, and I’m really happy where this storyline for her has ended up.”
She continued to speak about strong female characters and actors on the show:
“We have really powerful women on this show, all in their own right and in their own ways. They all emulate different strengths and the different ways that women can be strong, and that’s one thing I really love about this show. They’ve not all risen to power in the same ways.”
Well, let’s see what roles these women play in the endgame, which isn’t too far. What do you guys think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
