Game of Thrones has made the careers of many, but for some, it has been a pure blessing. Case in point, one of our favourite actors on the show, Rory McCann, who played the Hound on the show, revealed that he had quite the struggle with homelessness before landing a role on Game of Thrones. Read on!

Independent reports that Rory discussed his struggles before Thrones during an appearance on the Game of Thrones Reunion Special, hosted by Conan O’ Brien. Talking about living in Iceland before he landed the part of the Hound on Game of Thrones, he said:

“I was in a tent – literally in a tent – stealing food occasionally. Eventually I got a job and sorted myself out, but then suddenly I’m getting driven around in a nice car in the biggest and best show in the world – just shows how your fortunes can change. Amazing.”

He continued:

“I managed to go back [to Iceland] and pay my library fines.”

He had previously talked about how he had landed up in Iceland, in an interview with the Daily Record:

“I had made a Viking film with Gerard Butler and after filming I just went, ‘I’m staying,’ and was there for 11 months.

There wasn’t any acting work at the time. I had said to my agent to phone if anything was happening but it wasn’t, so I just stayed.”

It was coming into winter and some locals told me I was the only man on the whole island living in a tent, so they helped me get into a house and I found work as a carpenter.”

Well, we’re glad Rory landed that audition, because we cannot imagine another actor being the Hound. What about you guys? Talk to us in the comments, down below!

Everybody loves the holiday season and so does the Games of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. She revealed how her mode of celebration varies according to the company:

“We celebrate every year at home in London. I’ll also meet up with my friends around Christmas time and we’ll get drunk together”

Clarke then added:

“But that’s a different kind of celebrating – that doesn’t happen with the family. My mother would never allow it.”

Well, wasn’t that a remarkable revelation from an actress who arguably played the most powerful character on the show! Emilia Clarke’s portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen A.K.A. Khaleesi on Game of Thrones received critical acclaim and lots of popularity all over.

What do you think about this revelation from our Khaleesi? Let us know in the comments below!

Games of Thrones changed the lives of many of its actors. In one case, it even turned a homeless man into a household name! There were others who literally grew up in front of us, Maisie Williams who played the role of Arya Stark, Sophie Turner who brought Sansa Stark to life and Issac Hempstead Wright who portrayed the role of Bran Stark.

The three youngest members of the cast recently spoke about the show to Complex. Read on!

Issac recalling the first day of the shoot said:

“I can remember my first day of shooting because it just rained non-stop and I was like, ‘I don’t think I can do this. What have I gotten myself into?”

Speaking about his character Bran Stark Issac said:

“I just think he has the most extraordinary story, as a disabled ten-year-old, in one of the most brutal universes ever created, who loses his home and his family… and yet, despite all of that, or maybe in fact because of it, he is able to remove himself and dedicate himself to the strange mystical power he has, and actually ends up becoming one of the most powerful characters there is.”

Sophie Turner may be one be the most famous faces on earth now but back when the show began, she was just trying to find her feet. Speaking about her character of Sansa Stark, she said:

“I think [Sansa] is not power-hungry, which automatically makes her a better leader than most people in Game of Thrones, because they get blinded by that power. I think she’s very diplomatic and fair, politically minded, honest, and she’s been through the worst and has come out of it on top.”

Sophie also regretted not being able to do too many stunts on the show:

“I would have loved to do proper stunts, because I never really got to work with the stunt team unless it was [when I was] getting beaten. They are an Emmy-award winning stunt team, and I never got to work with them!”

Maisie Williams portrayal of Arya Stark was arguably one of the most appreciated aspects of the show. She also spoke about the tale behind one of the best lines of the last season!

“You know [series writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] stole that line from an interview I gave. I said Arya would never survive what Sansa survived, and Sansa would never have survived what Arya survived, and then [the characters] said the lines!”

Speaking about the final day of shooting the trio recalled being really emotional.

Issac said:

“I did [cry], I didn’t think I was going to,”

“It was really nostalgic, and very emotional… It was just a season of heartbreak. After so many years, it is impossible to say goodbye in the right way,”  Turner recalled.

“It’s impossible to be able to, one, feel all of that in one moment, and two, be able to thank anyone enough. We knew it was going to take a lot of time to set in. Still is.”

Williams added:

Wasn’t it fascinating to hear from three of the youngest but most important characters of the show. Which of these three stars did you like the most on the show? Let us know in the comments below!

A successful show has the power to change the lives of those involved with it. Game of Thrones did the same as well,  it changed the fortune of its entire team. Emilia Clarke was one of those, her life changed completely over a decade. Clarke played the character of Daenerys Targaryen on the show which turned out to be one of the most famous characters of all time. She recently spoke to The Guardian about what she went through during the show and her life post it. Read on!

When asked about if her illness changed her life, Clarke responded:

“I’m at the point where I definitely think of the brain hemorrhage as a good thing, because I was never destined to be the ‘young actor goes off the rails’ type, up and down the gossip columns. And having a brain hemorrhage that coincided precisely with the beginning of my career and the beginning of a show that became something quite meaty, it gave me a perspective that I wouldn’t have had otherwise.”

Clarke had lost her father in 2016, spoke about its impact as well “I’m quite a resilient human being, so a parent dying and brain hemorrhages coinciding with success and people following you in the street and getting stalkers – you’re just, like, ‘Well let’s try and make something sensible of it.’”

Clarke had shocked the fans of Game of Thrones a few months ago when she revealed that she was suffering from a life-threatening illness during the early stages of the show. On being asked about it she said she didn’t want anyone to think of her as a sick person.

“Well, you know, then. You know the worries. That people will think your soul, your movement, your voice, who you were,” was damaged. “It was nerve-racking to share it, to be honest. It always is, when you make yourself vulnerable.” She waited so long to talk about it, because, “I didn’t want people to think of me as… sick.”

Emilia Clarke was recently seen in the movie “Last Christmas” which turned out to be a Box Office hit. She spoke about how exhausted she felt after Thrones’ run had ended. She said:

So, bloated and exhausted I went away for two weeks with my best girlfriend, [The Good Fight star] Rose Leslie, and it was in this retreat in India that I suddenly got it. This is what stopping feels like. And I was able to finally… be kind to myself.”
