Game of Thrones has reached a stage where it no longer is just a TV series but has become a global phenomenon which commands the loyalty of millions of fans across the world, who follow the show with fervour which is sure to make other shows and stars jealous. The 6th season of Game of Thrones was simply spectacular in terms of the script and the special effects and looking at the reports, we know that the 7th season will be extraordinary.

However, HBO is making sure that no stone is left unturned and they have teamed up with the talented Ramin Djawadi, who has composed the music for the series, and are ready to kick-off the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience. The Game of Thrones Live Concert was announced last year and it involves a 24 city North American tour, which begins on February 20th in Minneapolis.

Speaking with Billboard, Ramin Djawadi gave us an idea about what we can expect from the live concert, which has taken 3 years to convert from Ramin’s vision into reality. The tour, which has the tagline, “Music is coming” will feature music from all 6 seasons. “I took all my soundtracks and asked, ‘Which pieces are must-plays?’ ”, said Djawadi. As expected, the fan favourites like “The Rains of Castamere” are a part of the concert and he also selected pieces like “Mhysa,” which was played after Daenerys freed the slaves of Meereen.

Ramin also revealed his interesting plans regarding the instruments that will be used during the concert. “We’re going to have a lot of soloists. Since I’m not bound by picture, I’ll be able to give the audience a little more duduk.” For those who don’t know, Duduk is a Middle Eastern woodwind which was used for the Dothraki scenes.

Like the show, even the sets will be grand and concert will consist of a seven-stage set, representing the cities shown during the opening credits, with main stage being King’s Landing, separated by a 30-foot walkway from Winterfell. The other smaller stages will stand in for Meereen, Pike, Dorne, Braavos and the soloists will perform over there.

And that’s not where it ends. The set will also consist of two humongous digital projection screens which will float above the Winterfell and King’s Landing set and in addition to that, 3 types of smoke will be used along with pyrotechnics to match the scenes where the Dragons spit fire and green explosives to match the wildfire explosion that turned the Great Sept of Baelor and the people inside it into ashes.

In addition to this, HBO has also share some of the mind boggling numbers involved with this tour which will cover 11,588 miles by bus and truck and the 136 speakers that will give battle calls and the 807 linear feet of video walls which will be used to recreate the world of Game of Thrones. Take a look at the infographic below.
