Pilou Asbæk takes credit for Euron's transformation into a rock star in Game of Thrones Season 7
Game of Thrones has had a lot of characters over its that make you hate their guts, and the latest one of the bunch has been Euron Greyjoy. We first saw him in Season 6, and when he came back for Season 7, he had a whole new style, which was very pirate-y with a heavy dose of mania. We all noticed it, no doubt, and in a new interview with Out, Pilou Asbæk, who plays the role of Euron on Game of Thrones revealed that the new swagger was his doing. Read on!
So how did it exactly happen? Apparently after the Season 6 entry of the character, Euron suggested the change to the showrunners, David Benioff and Dan Weiss. This totally changed the Season 7 approach for Euron Greyjoy. Pilou says :
“I wanted to make him a rock star.” He further added, “If you met me in a bar, we would be laughing like 85% of the time. The last 15% of the time you would be at the toilet, but still laughing because my jokes would be so funny.”
“I’m not very serious. I’m a very chill guy. Maybe it’s the way I look.”
Honestly, the change just improved the character! There is still one thing it couldn’t do : make Ramsay Bolton look like ‘a little kid’, as Pilou had promised. Ramsay is still the far better villain.
The interview has a lot of other non-Game of Thrones bits, so head on here and take a look! How did you like Euron Greyjoy’s makeover in Game of Thrones Season 7? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
