We had earlier reported that Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, had had her nude photographs leaked. Now we finally have a response from her side on this gross violation of the 19-year-old’s privacy.
Maisie’s representative talked to Page Six about the incident. Confirming the legitimacy of the pictures, she said :
“The images online were shared from Maisie’s personal social media account. The images are not explicit in nature, but pictures of Maisie and close friends at a spa at a recent visit in Japan.”
Nothing more was said by Maisie’s representative.
The pictures reportedly depicted Maisie semi-nude, on a rock, and two of her female friends taking their clothes off. The photos were from Maisie’s recent visit to Japan, as the global ambassador for Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project, which aims at ending dolphin captivity.
Explicit or not, Maisie clearly intended the pictures for her inner circle, and not all of her fans. Maybe the internet should stop trying to get their hands on every single thing, for once.
