Peter Dinklage talks about the end of Game of Thrones and his Superbowl commercial
Game of Thrones stars are always in the limelight, especially with the show’s final season approaching. While the show will not return till 2019, we are discussing all things Season 8, and relying on cast news and interviews that we have been getting recently. We saw Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) feature in the new Doritos Blaze/Mtn. Dew Ice Superbowl commercial with Morgan Freeman. In a recent phone interview with Mashable, he discussed the interview, and Game of Thrones Season 8. Read on!
Speaking of picking fire over ice in the commercial, Dinklage said :
“I guess I can’t escape it at this point. It’s following me around.”
He went on to talk about how it was to star in the commercial, with Morgan Freeman, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott :
“Morgan Freeman, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot – I enjoy working with people like that. I have nothing but respect for those guys, especially Morgan Freeman. Being an actor, he is one of the great icons. So just to be involved in a shoot like this with a person like that is incredible. It’s an honor.”
He also talked about how his part in the commercial was:
“I had probably one of the fastest tracks in the history of rap, so I think I should get a lot of credit for that, ahem.”
He then talked about Game of Thrones, and how the cast members aren’t divulging information even to those that are closest to them:
“That’s the fun part. Everybody has to wait just like everybody else – family, friends. We live in a world of spoilers and we keep it quiet. We’re really good at this point.
Fans are a great resource for material. They know more about it than I do almost. But it’s fun to see them speculate, especially early on when we’re just getting started. It’s great, it means everybody’s really engaged in the show.”
Speaking of the end of the show, he said:
“It was heartbreaking and the end of an era.”
