Omitted character from Game of Thrones shines on cover of 2018 A Song of Ice and Fire Calendar
The Game of Thrones franchise is one of the biggest in the world right now, with the books from the original series, A Song of Ice and Fire, being best sellers, the TV show consistently being one of the most watched ones, and one of the highest award-winning shows, and merchandise sales going through the roof, the franchise is minting cash at the moment. One of the gems lost in the heap of Game of Thrones stuff fans can buy, is the A Song of Ice and Fire Calendar. The cover of the 2018 edition has now been revealed, and it is amazing!
The cover was revealed on the author George R.R. Martin’s Not A Blog, by one of his minions. The cover has been illustrated by artistEric Velhagen, and features an important character from the books which was axed from the TV adaptation :Victarion Greyjoy. Check the cover out, below :
Eric Velhagen’s work is brilliant, and his style seems to match the tone of the calendar, so we are really excited about this edition of the calendar.
The 2017 edition of the calendar was illustrated by Didier Graffet, and the 2016 edition illustrated by Magali Villeneuve. In our opinion, Eric Velhagen seems to be even better than the previous artists, which is saying something, because the last two editions of the calendar were pretty great themselves. We hope to see more pieces from the calendar revealed before it’s available for purchase.
Talking of which, Amazon has listed the 2018 A Song of Ice and Fire Calendar scheduled for a release on July 18, this year, which is exactly two days after the premiere of Season 7 of Game of Thrones, as was announced recently.
