Nikolaj Coster-Waldau gets booed at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 for defending Jaime's ending
Game of Thrones Season 8 is still not done getting all the hate the fanbase thinks it deserves. Like we had reported, the fans were planning on confronting showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss at San Diego but they dropped off from the panel at the last moment. Looks like the fans voiced a bit of their displeasure anyway, booing Nikolaj Coster-Waldau instead. Read on!
As you might know, Game of Thrones had a panel at SDCC 2019, in Hall H, one last time. A few of the stars were present at the panel, including Nikolaj, who played Jaime Lannister on the show. Speaking at the panel, Nikolaj defended Jaime’s death and his return to Cersei by leaving Brienne behind, saying it made sense to him, and that it was perfect for the character. This drew in a few boos from the crowd. Check out the video:
Nikolaj just laughed it off and went on to discuss the hate that Season 8 and the ending received:
“It was surprising the level of absurdity of the online petition. Every season, we had huge controversies. From Ned Stark being killed, ‘I’m never going to watch that piece of shit show again!’ And then there was the Red Wedding. And obviously, the end. I feel so lucky to have met so may fans of the show, and to realize this show has brought so many people together. Watching it, loving it. So obviously, It comes to an end, it’s going to piss you off no matter what. It’s the end! But at the end of the day, it’s absolutely fine. If you hated the ending if you loved it, that’s great. Just don’t call people names.”
Makes sense. What do you guys think? Still mad about Season 8? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
