New covers for George R. R. Martin’s upcoming book ‘Fire and Blood’ revealed

The next installment in the series ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ (the Winds of Winter) might be miles away but, George R. R. Martin’s new book isn’t. Earlier announced, George’s new book ‘Fire and Blood’ is a book foretelling some unknown parts of Targaryen history and is all set to release on 20th of November. Also, the book will be released in many variants with new covers for each.
What’s known about the new book is that it is an account of Targaryen history ranging from Aegon Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros to the Dance of Dragons – the Targaryen civil war. The book’s first cover (designed by Doug Wheatley) was revealed back in April by George himself via his Twitter account with the caption:
“FIRE & BLOOD, the history of the Targaryens, will be releasing in hardcover on November 20! Read more about it in my blog post: http://ow.ly/BYwt30jFYoK #FireandBlood ”
George also had teased a sneak-peak of the book on his blog:
“I’ve seen the archmaester’s manuscript. Since it was handwritten on vellum with a quill pen, he required my help in transcribing the text to a more modern format: WordStar 4.0, on a DOS computer. Took a while, but a few weeks ago I was able to ship it off to my editors on both sides of the Atlantic, and to my foreign representatives for all my publishers around the world. Some of my foreign publishers will be releasing their editions simultaneously with the US and UK hardbacks; others may need to wait for translation from the Common Tongue.”
“It’s a hefty book, almost a thousand manuscript pages (okay, 989, if you want to be precise). That’s not quite as long as A GAME OF THRONES or any of the later volumes in A SONG FOR ICE AND FIRE, but there’s a lot of reading there, and I hope you’ll enjoy it.”
“This first volume covers all the Targaryen kings from Aegon I (the Conquerer) to the regency of Aegon III (the Dragonbane), along with their wives, wars, siblings, children, friends, rivals, laws, travels, and sundry other matters. For those not up on your Westerosi history, that’s Aegon I, Aenys, Maegor the Cruel, Jaehaerys I (the Conciliator), Viserys I, Aegon II (and Rhaenyra), and Aegon III (the regency). Oh, and there are dragons too.”
“Lots of dragons.”
But recently enough, he presented us with a brand new cover art for the Brazilian version his book via his Twitter account:
Additionally, Subterranean Press too released their version of the book cover via their Twitter account:
Moreover, there is a new European version of the book underway with a new book cover too. Check out the teaser for the book shared on Facebook, here:
Which of these book covers did you like the most? And, tell us in the comments section how excited you are for the ‘Fire and Blood’ series?
