Yes, it’s real. Game of Thrones is coming to an end. Our favorite show will show up in 2019, for one final ride, and then be no more. Depressing as that is, there is a silver lining, the episodes have been touted to be full of excitement, and more importantly : longer! Now, there have been countless rumors, and certain almost confessions regarding the increased length of the final six episodes of the show, and now we have a bit of a tease from Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, the titular character of the series, truth be told. Read on!

Kit recently spoke about Game of Thrones Season 8 in an interview with The Sun. Now, he didn’t exactly put a stamp on things, but he left the discussion open. Speaking of the episode lengths, he said :

“We know we have six episodes – we are not sure whether they will run for 70 minutes or even 90 minutes.”

He continued :

“There is so much work still to do. We haven’t put together a full episode yet as there is more filming. The length will be a network decision. But we are busy.”

HBO programming president Casey Bloys recently commented on the lengths in his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, as well :

“It really will be dependent on when the showrunners get the cuts and what they’re happy with. Everything on Game of Thrones is driven by their desire to make the best show possible. When we’re going to air, how long the episodes are — we’re taking their lead on what they need.”

Looks like things are looking good for Season 8, let’s just hope Season 8 has a runtime of as long as the producers can stretch it to. After all, it is the final season. You don’t get two of those. What do you think? Talk to us in the comments, down below!
