Weeks ago Kit Harington – who plays Jon Snow in Game of Thrones discussed the reason for retaining his look from the show and his once desire to play to the role Harry Potter. Well, he recently talked to Men’s Journal where he discussed how Game of Thrones Emmy win surprised him and much more. Read on.

Although Game of Thrones Season 7 was full of battle scenes, major action sequences, and a surprising ending, Kit hadn’t actually thought that it could win the show an Emmy. Yet Game of Thrones succeeded at the Emmys event and won an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for the third time. According to Kit:

“It was exciting to be at the Emmy Awards again and to win, because we weren’t expecting to a win this time…We were away for a while, and I wasn’t even sure we’d get nominated, which in some ways sounds mad. But we missed a year and sometimes they’ll wait for a final season to give the awards. I thought Season 7 was brilliant, and I’m glad they recognized that.”

Kit Harington has been a part of the show since the first season and from the episode ‘Winter is Coming’. His acting career got a major kick from his role on the show and eventually, the show too has become a major success by casting actors like Harington. Talking about his experience on Game of Thrones, Kit revealed:

“The whole experience has been incredible…I’ve felt very fortunate to work with so many amazing people.”

Up next, Kit talked about what he is most excited about the fans to see in the final season. Without revealing any spoiler, the actor said:

“This is going to be so boring, but it’s a minefield to say anything. Even in the past when I’ve said something it gets taken the wrong way, or that I revealed something. Even if I’ll say that it’s going to be an exciting season, it’ll get put out in the wrong way”

“I don’t know how I’m going to deal with this when I actually have to promote the thing, but I don’t want anything to get taken wrongly. I’ll say this about Season 7, it was just brilliant to work on. The intensity of doing episodes, and getting to do more than I’ve ever done on the show, it was fantastic and a wonderful experience, and it’ll be exciting for fans to see what’s next.”

The episode ‘Beyond the Wall’ from Season 7 was pretty epic and was full of intense scenes like Viserion’s death that gave chills to many fans. And, we are ready for more in the final season, aren’t we? Talking about his experience filming scenes for the episode, the actor said:

“We filmed a lot of that in Iceland. It was brutal, being out there in minus-40 degrees and the freezing wind. It can be quite an experience. Overall, I love location work. I’m more of a person that thinks there is a benefit of filming on location, whether it’s Game of Thrones or something else”

“You get to go to these incredible locations and step on to these amazing sets in places where people would have to pay to come visit. If you’re in film, that’s what you want to do. You can’t really complain when you are bitterly cold, because you’re in some of the most stunning places in the world like Iceland or Croatia and so on.”

Finally talking to Men’s Journal, if he kept anything from the Game of Thrones set, Kit revealed:

“I actually didn’t take anything too crazy. I kept some of the armor that I use for Jon Snow’s outfit, like the wrist protectors I’ll wear in his costume. I thought those were pretty cool.”

Well, that’s what you call being obsessed with your character! Jon Snow may know nothing but still, we are up for any info he reveals. Share your thoughts in the comments section down below.
