Joe Dempsie (Gendry) says Game of Thrones ending will be unexpected
Game of thrones Season 8 is currently filming, and in the midst of all the filming updates, we have also been getting some cast interviews, teasing the final season. Joe Dempsie, who plays the role of Gendry on the show, has been the subject of quite a few interviews, and in the latest one, he teased the upcoming season, and talked about how the the ending of the show will not be quite what the fans are expecting. Read on!
In a recent interview with Metro, Joe talked about the much awaited Season 8, and what he thinks of the ending:
“I’m sure David and Dan don’t pay too much attention to people’s theories and speculation there is all over the internet, but it would be a bit of an anti-climax if a well-popularised theory turned out to be the way it ended.
There’s many pitfalls and I think they really have achieved that with this. It’s an ending I don’t think many people will be expecting and I think, on reflection, people will really, really enjoy. That’s if I know the ending at all.”
Speaking of his experience on Season 8, he said :
“I’ve done well out of it this year, for sure.
As will all these things, we never shoot in chronological order – so you might have people coming in at the beginning and at the end, but it doesn’t necessarily mean they make it all the way through!”
Now, we know that Gendry was sent roving in Season 3, and didn’t return until Season 7, which was quite an odd experience for Joe. He talked about being glad to be in the center of the action:
“From a personal point of view – to be stood there on the set when they’re making that ending… that end game. So yeah, I’m very happy to be involved and be on set for season eight.”
