Jerome Flynn believes Bronn might be loved less after Game of Thrones Season 8
Game of Thrones Season 8 is arriving on 14th and there are many expectations from a number of characters this season. Taking into account Bronn – one of the much-loved characters so far in the series, fans really want him to get the one thing he’s after for many seasons now – a castle! Jerome Flynn – the actor who plays his role recently shared in an interview, that he thinks he might be loved less after Season 8.
Talking to the Insider at the New York City premiere of Game of Thrones Season 8, when asked what fans will feel about his character after the series finale, Jerome revealed:
“I don’t know, they might not love him as much as they do right now. But I hope they still do…He is who he is and what he says, isn’t he? And he’ll do what he needs to get his castle.”
The first episode, as we expect from the recent promo photos, will probably focus on character reunions but I’m excited to watch what Bronn will do once he finds out Jaime is gone from King’s Landing? Will he go after him? Will he fight alongside him? Probably yes. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking from my side, yet I believe he will have a big role to play in the final season. The biggest proof that one can find lies in his character arc development – rising from a mere sellsword to an anointed knight.
And, it’s even possible to have a number of callbacks from Season 3 and 4, when he reunites with Tyrion Lannister and Podrick Payne at Winterfell. We can definitely hope for some awkward exchanges between the three, something we saw in the final episode of Season 7 when Bronn was sent to escort team Dany to the Dragonpit. While other cast members talk about their hard work and tight filming schedules for the new season, Jerome seems totally cool about it. He says:
“It wasn’t that stressful or strenuous for me…Yeah, that’s all I’m saying. I wasn’t that stressed or strained.”
These two remarks by Jerome Flynn is either intended to throw us away or the actor really wants to wait for something epic from his character in the new season. But, even if we don’t get much from Bronn this season, I totally disagree with Jerome – we are never going to hate his character and will always be hopeful for him getting a castle before the series finally ends.
