One of the best aspects of the Game of Thrones television series has always been its character casting. Even the creator of the GOTverse, George R. R. Martin, is in awe of them. House of the Dragon is closely following the example set by its predecessor, especially with the addition of numerous renowned performers to the cast in Season 2. The show’s star Rhys Ifans, who has already played notable roles in films like The Amazing Spider-Man, will now be appearing in a new comedy-drama.

Rhys Ifans joins Ewan McGregor in Mother, Couch

The first image for the film “Mother, Couch” was recently released and stars McGregor and Ifans in lead roles. The film, directed by Niclas Larsson, is based on the Swedish novel Mamma I Soffa and follows three siblings as they try to persuade their mother to leave a furniture store’s green couch. It’s regarded as “comical and existentially challenging.”

What is “Mother, Couch” about?

Based on the novel by Jerker Virdborg, three estranged siblings, David (McGregor), Gruffud (Rhys Ifans), and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle), gather to see their Mother (Burstyn), who refuses to leave a furniture store’s green couch. Variety has revealed a fresh photograph of the three characters, probably discussing how to deal with their mother.

Who is in the cast of Mother, Couch?

Along with McGregor, Ifans, and Boyle, other notable cast members include Harley Quinn’s Lake Bell, Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn, Taylor Russell (Bones and All), and F. Murray Abraham. The film is directed by Niclas Larsson and produced by Lyrical Media founder Alex Black.

When is Mother, Couch releasing?

Mother, Couch does not have a worldwide release date yet, but will make its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival this September.
