One of the most heartfelt episodes of Game of Thrones’ history was the eighth episode of the House of the Dragon, “The Lord of the Tides.” There are so many hints as to how ethically ambiguous the characters in the series are; none of them is fully evil nor entirely good. The episode was lauded for Paddy Considine‘s breathtaking performance and beautiful cinematography.

House of the Dragon episode 8 was the most taxing to film

The show’s cinematographer Catherine Goldschmidt talked to Gold Derby in an interview about the filming of episode 8, and said, “I don’t think I’ve worked harder in my life on a single hour of anything. It’s extremely gratifying to have it received so well by everybody, and the truth is, as soon as we read that episode we felt like we had been given this huge gift.”

“It’s an incredibly special, well-written, rich episode where all these characters get to have their moment. We really felt the weight of the responsibility of that, and I’m just usually gratified that people responded.”
