House of The Dragon Episode 1 teases the storyline of another Game of Thrones spinoff
Tis the age of spinoffs! With every other show getting a spinoff of its own, how can Game of Thrones lag behind? Once hailed as the greatest TV show of the 21st century, George R. R. Martin’s fantasy series was the cash cow for HBO for nearly a decade, but they don’t want that story to be over just yet. House of The Dragon was the first of many spinoffs currently in development at HBO, and the prequel just teased the arrival of another series that might be on our TV screens in near future.
In the first episode of House of The Dragon, Alicent Hightower playfully tries to teach Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen about the story of Princess Nymeria and her 10,000 ships, an important event in the history of Dorne. Rhaenyra recalls it perfectly:
“Princess Nymeria led her Rhoynar across the Narrow Sea on 10,000 ships to flee their Valyrian pursuers. She took Lord Mors Martell of Dorne to husband and burned her own fleet off Sunspear to show her people they were finished running.”
10,000 ships is a Game of Thrones spinoff currently under development with Amanda Segel at its writer. It is one of the spinoffs furthest in development after House of The Dragon, as confirmed by George R. R. Martin himself.
Do you think a series about the 10,000 ships will be a reality in near future? Tell us in the comments below!
