Doing this for my love for dragons and Khaleesi. Oh, And Jon. And Tyrion. And Cersei. And always remember, there is no justice in this world unless we make it.

Daenerys Stormborn, the blood of House Targaryen, mother of dragons and ruler of men, Khaleesi and rightful queen of seven kingdoms. These are the words we’ve heard every time Daenerys has introduced herself on the show. She has some very major Targaryen traits and does total justice to the long description. And about these things, books and the episodes are in total sync. But what the books don’t talk about regarding Targaryens and specially Daenerys is her immunity to fire.

There have been instances in the book of A song of Ice and Fire which say that Daenerys has more tolerance to fire than other human beings. Further, George R.R. Martin himself said, “Lastly, some fans are reading too much into the scene in GAME OF THRONES where the dragons are born — which is to say, it was never the case that all Targaryens are immune to all fire at all times.

And then while chatting with a different source, Martin said that, “TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany’s dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. She is called The Unburnt because she walked into the flames and lived. But her brother sure as hell wasn’t immune to that molten gold.

So according to Martin, Targaryens are not immune to fire. Now talking about the show, Daenerys has always been showed to have an immunity against heat and fire. From the pilot episode where she steps in a scathing hot water tub for a bath and does not even flinch, to the time she stepped in Drogo’s Pyre with three dragon eggs and came out unburnt with three baby dragons, the showrunners have always showed Daenerys to be immune to power, sort of a superhero. There is also a theory that goes that probably Daenerys got out of the pyre unharmed because of the blood sacrifice of the sorceress Miri Mazz Durr. But the episode which was aired on Sunday, 15th May, showed Daenerys to come out alive from a burning Dosh Khaleen temple and the temple was completely burnt.

It appears that the showrunners are deviating from the books in terms of her ability to resist fire, or is it possible that she really has this rare gift, which will be revealed later in the books?
