The global premiere of Game of Thrones Season 7 is just a few hours away, but for the stars of the show and some other high profile people, the special premiere event was recently held by HBO at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, at Los Angeles. The event premiered the first episode of Season 7, titled Dragonstone, and we have been hearing some amazing things about the episode. Here is our round-up of Season 7 premiere episode reviews! Beware, might contain mild spoilers.

First off, is The Telegraph‘s review of the episode. Speaking about the beginning, it said :

“The opening scene, ahead of the credits, drew the biggest crowd reaction of the night. As an audience member, I was, initially, a little confused. The first minute seemed an unusually slow start – a large gathering on screen, but not one heavy with tension or intrigue, a notorious plotter addressing his followers.”

Interesting, and so it proceeds :

“Then, a shift in tone, and a swift massacre – without actual violence – and a dramatic unveiling prompting wild applause and gleeful cheers.”

What else? There’s a surprise for us all :

“Directed by Jeremy Podeswa, who also helmed last season’s opener, it also has plenty of humorous moments, not least in the form of a whimsical cameo from a British musical star (no prizes for guessing who), and the introduction of some new – and yet wholly familiar – faces.”

Looks like we’re getting an early treat. Next up, is GQ‘s review. They’ve noted down the most important things to take away from the episode. First off, is that we shouldn’t trust the plot leaks. Secondly, there are almost no new cast members in the episode. There is more than one celebrity cameo, apparently. The review also said that everything is bigger, and Game of Thrones is much darker now. We have goosebumps, already!
