George R. R. Martin amused by Harvard Lampoon’s Game of Thrones parody
They say laughter is the best medicine. Looking at the current scenario, it seems quite fit. With the pandemic on the rise again and no viable vaccine, smiles are the only cure we have. Comedians have often used parodies to induce laughs amongst the audience. Even TV shows and movies have their own parodies. Therefore, it’s not possible for a show as big as Game of Thrones to skip the radar as well. Moreover, it seems author George R.R. Martin is heartily amused as well.
On his personal blog Not a Blog, Martin confessed being parodied in a post. He wrote, “Way way back in 1969, when the world and I were young, the Harvard Lampoon did a hilarious send-up of Tolkien and LORD OF THE RINGS, called BORED OF THE RINGS. It is still in print all these years later. Spam and Dildo, Arrowroot son of Arrowshirt, Pepsi and Moxie… a hoot.
And now, I guess, it is my turn.
The Harvard Lampoon has turned its sights on A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE and come up with LAME OF THRONES.
Yes, they sent me a copy.
No, I have not looked at it yet. I am working up the courage.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, they say… but the parody is right up there, so…
Thanks. I guess.”

We’ve all had childhood heroes who we idolized and wanted to be like them. We know that Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner is a big fan of Miley Cyrus’ TV show, Hannah Montana. She dubbed Joe ‘hubbs of the year’ when he gave her a Hannah Montana T-shirt as an early Christmas present in 2020. Now, her 8-month-old baby girl has been showered with love from none other than Hannah Montana herself.
On Wednesday, March 24, Miley Cyrus sent a bouquet from her pop star alter ego to Joe and his family in honour of the 15th anniversary of her Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana. Hidden in her handwritten card was a sneaky clue that sent fans into a wild frenzy.
Joe posted a picture of the star-shaped flower arrangement, with purple, yellow and pink blooms. He wrote, “HOLY HANNAH MONTANA!!! THANK YOU @mileycyrus WE LOVE IT! THIS IS EPIC!!”
Sophie added, “THANK U HANNAH WE [purple heart] U.”
However, Smilers zoomed in on the note that Miley had written for the couple. It appeared to read, “To: Joe & Sophie! It was so sweet of you to name your daughter after me! Sending all my love to little Miss Hannah Montana! Love, Hannah Montana.”

Paparazzi are known to be on the lookout for any kind of celebrity news 24×7. They often go to extreme lengths, sometimes even spy on their preferred celebrities to get a snap for their publication. This often leads to an invasion of privacy and ticks the celebrities to the point of lashing out. The Daily Mail is a British publication with a bit of a reputation for slip-shod, inaccurate, scaremongering reporting. It’s not uncommon to hear it referred to as ‘The Daily Fail‘ online, as it tends to rub a lot of people the wrong way.
That includes some of the people profiled in the publication itself, like Game of Thrones star Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister). The Daily Mail ran a photo of her riding her electric motorbike in Los Angeles. She shot back at them on her Instagram for “sitting outside our house” for generally being lame.

She wrote, “FASCINATING. PROGRESSIVE. RELEVANT. EXCITINGAF. Daily Fail, can you please stop sitting outside our house, it’s dull, for everyone (again, see above).”
Lena Headey is famous for playing the role of Cersei Lannister on the fantasy series Game of Thrones. She is currently busy with her new film Nine Bullets.

To make the work environment a bit more fun, the cast and crew often play pranks on each other. They try to have a good time that eases off the tension of enormous workload. There are also incidences that are purely accidental but are extremely hilarious. These bloopers show the fun side of the cast members behind the screen. Recently, one of Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal’s blooper video went viral. It was from the sets of Wonder Woman 1984.

Earlier this month Warner Bros. released the gag reel for Wonder Woman 1984, and one part of it has since taken on a life of its own. A clip of actor Pedro Pascal has gone viral among a lot of fans. It shows him accidentally farting while in the middle of a take on the film, in Maxwell Lord’s costume.
The blooper takes an amusing tone when juxtaposed with Pascal’s actual work in Wonder Woman 1984. Max Lord is much more of an antagonistic character within the events of the film.
Pedro Pascal is currently busy with a lot of new projects. He is already working on the third season of Star Wars spin-off The Mandalorian.
